Welded back together as only HW store on island dosent carry power tools. Pulled lots of temp bracing around companion hatch frame and pulled flat then welded in and popped off temps. A bit odd welding near deck and cockpit as it was tight. Started fittting drain flanges for lockers.

The companion way hatch in place. It is a ocean going hatch not a patio door type as is often seen on condomarans.

The jigsaw tries to get out of work.

June 29 1999 5 hour: Raining again probably 25 days with rain this month. Weldout 2 18" hatches and weldup mast step assembly and mast base. Wee bit of shrinkage on mast step required 2x4s + jack to set straight ( about 1/8" out after welding ).

Mast step details, the butt inserts into the base of the mast. Note Jack fixing up my work.

June 30 1999 9 hour: Cut and formed cones for steering pedestal ( thump thump on tube with clamps etc ). Weld up couple more deck hatches and cut keyway and make key for steering shaft. It was easy work with light touch on the meat axe and a bit of fileing of the key. Build companion way step support and weld on then top with ply ( temp ). Cut out steps and mark up for bow ladder. Weldout last of stern knuckle on stb hull.

Bits and pieces for the pedestal.
