August 29 1999 10 hour: Another very rainy day. Cutout winch pads for mast and side decks. Finish framing around cabin side ports. Welded cabin sides to frame 5. Finish weldout of cabin top and sides. Had some help from the wife with a backup bar on the cabin weldouts. Took a header off of bow ladder from about 6 feet up, Lots of scrapes even through jeans. Didnt break anything even though leg got caught in rungs.

August 30 1999 7.5 hour: Fit and weldout stb tiller shelf. Weld on 3rd section of mast track. Neat trick for getting the track on ( fairly ) straight is to tack the top of the track then heat up the track a bunch more that the mast until it is longer then to tack the bottom. It pull itself straight when it cools down. Dont over do or it will prebend the mast. Fit and weldout lateral reinforcement for anchor roller. Twisted my ankle when I stepped down into a hole made by dropping the anchor the other day !!

August 31 1999 5 hour: Aft stb deck framing. Splice 20 fathoms 5/8" 3 strand nylon to 60 fathom 5/16" HT chain and rolled it onto the windlass drum. Made chain guard where the chain drags over the main beam.
