Osram VII

100 hours to date.

June 28 12 hour: Join bottom pieces of stb hull, turned with clamped on hull stringer. Welded up stb hull stb side lower panel. made up upper stringer to clamp to side to turn over panel for final pass on forward seam. ( with backup bar)

June 29 1 hour: Rain.. welded back pass on stb hull stb lower.

June 30 11 hour: Welded lower stringer and attached stringers to stb hull stb lower. Used half stitch up with full stitch on lower stringer bottom. Moved panels to assembly area and started to fit up.

July 1 9 hour: Rain in morning, finish moving panels into final alignment and approximate spread. Start tackup from stern. Level, level and level. Use bevel gage to keep sides even, and check level again. Stitch up about half done.

July 2 10 hour: Join up port hull stb lower and start puting stringer on.

July 3 11 hour: Finish assembly of port hull stb lower. Have used alternate stitches at 2' intervals plus full on bottom of lower stringer and at ends. Finish tack up of stb hull bottow to lowers. Will need some add ons to get into little corners at bow, and will close up the top of bow after weldup of bottom to lower.

July 4 12 hour: Build up port hull stb lower complete. Ready to assemble with bottom.

July 5 2 hour: Working on welding up forward part of bottom when thunder storm started. Got back to it in afternoon but got welding 'logic' backward and panel was out by 1/2" at tip. Cut out joint and will redo.

July 6 9 hour: Join up bottom panel and assemble lowers and bottom into position. Start tackup of bottom to lower.

July 7 5 hour: Finished tackup of port hull bottom and lowers. Move 1 24'x 6'x 1/8" sheet to cutout area for mainbeam.

July 9 5 hour: Cut out center section of mainbeam. Test fitup of botched bow cones. Had Nanaimo Sheet Metal do the bow cones. They got the lower radius wrong and put in hard creases rather than a smooth 'air break' as specified. Will have to hand fit the cones rather than using the designed lap joint. My first 'in building design modification' N.S.M. wont be getting any more work and they wont be getting paid.

July 10 3 hour: Line up and level hulls to LWL. 19.5' on CL.

July 11 11 hour: Loft and cutout forward topsides and knuckles. Pulled over 4 24' x 6' x 1/8" plates at once and cut them all at the same time.
